Water with high mineral contents of magnesium and calcium can cause build up in plumbing and appliances, dry hair and skin, stained laundry, spotty glassware and other household issues
A water softener is used to remove "hard" minerals from water... while hard water isn't dangerous, it can be annoying and cause:
• soap scum in sinks/tubs
• mineral deposits on dishes
• stiff laundry
• mineral buildup in pipes
• extra surfactants required to clean hair, dishes & other surfaces
But use caution when using a water softener when you live on a septic system!
